There is currently a vacancy on the Marquette-Alger RESA Board of Education due to the recent resignation of a board member.
 

ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible to serve on the Board of Education, a person must:

  • Be a citizen of the United States
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be a resident of Marquette or Alger counties
     

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Board of Education is responsible for the overall governance of Marquette-Alger RESA. This includes setting policies, approving the budget, and hiring and evaluating the superintendent. 

Board members are expected to attend regular board meetings on the fourth Monday of each month at 6 p.m.


TERM:

The individual appointed to fill this vacancy will serve until the next Marquette-Alger RESA board election in early June 2025, at which time the individual could participate in the election process for the board seat. Board members typically serve six-year terms. 
 

APPLICATION PROCESS:

Interested individuals should submit their materials to the right for consideration no later than
12:00 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2024. 

 

INTERVIEW PROCESS:

The Board of Education will review all applications and may select candidates for interviews prior to making a decision. If interviews are conducted, they will will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024 between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Marquette-Alger RESA’s administrative offices.
 

APPOINTMENT:

The Marquette-Alger RESA Board of Education will appoint the new board member at the special board meeting on Monday, June 17, 2024.
